TaeKwon-Do Demo at Priory School Xmas 2009

Saturday 5th December was brilliant! We had been asked by The Priory School in Banstead to perform a half hour demonstration of TaeKwon-Do on that day as part of their annual Christmas Fayre, it was clear that every participant enjoyed the event.

We drew a large crowd. Many people were very impressed with our formal movements, pad work, jumping kicks, sparring and patterns. There were numerous gasps made in awe from the crowd. A very successful demonstration and everyone should feel very proud of themselves.

What I am most impressed about is that many people involved in the demonstration have only been training in TaeKwon-Do (in the Banstead class) for 3 months with one lesson a week, about 12 lessons. These people have learnt so much in such a short space of time. There was not a single sign of nerves from these people, every single one was spot on with their techniques and really showed how much fun we can have when training in TaeKwon-Do.

The youngest two people there were 4 and 5 year olds, Edie and Amy, from the Tiny TKD’ers class (Wednesday evenings, 6 – 6:30pm). These two girls were so proud to show off their TaeKwon-Do Skills in front of some of their friends. They both did very well indeed.

Special thanks must go to students from the Extreme TaeKwon-Do group of schools, Martin, Sophie, Matthew (2nd Dan) and Miss Laura Fox (2nd Dan). Laura made a big effort to travel to Banstead for the demonstration, thank you so much.

Thanks also to The Priory School for allowing me to use their premises to start the TaeKwon-Do School in Banstead, they have been very accommodating and provide excellent facilities.

Well Done Everyone and here’s looking forward to the next demonstration!
