Summer Camp Success for Banstead TKD Martial Arts
August 15 – 19th 2011 was a week full of TaeKwon-Do training for children aged between 6 and 16 years from Extreme TaeKwon-Do, the camp is run by Master R. Dennis. Five students from Banstead TaeKwon-Do enrolled for the week hoping to possibly grade at the end of the week.
Conor, Sam, William and Mikey from the Banstead Juniors class and Lukas from the Seniors class went along to Tadworth Primary school for the week and by all accounts they certainly had fun and judging by the results they tore the place up.
I was pleased to have been asked by Master Dennis to attend for the week however my timetable only allowed me to come along on Tuesday 16th, I had my little son in tow (he’s 3) and I think he learnt a lot by watching – especially watching me teach some sparring techniques and general sparring “Do’s and Don’ts” – it was a great day thoroughly enjoyed by all I believe.
I am proud to announce:
Lukas was awarded Student of the Week for his division, Gold in the patterns competition for his division and he passed his grading to Blue Belt. The first to reach Blue Belt from Banstead TaeKwon-do. Very Well Done.
Conor was awarded Student of the Week for his division, Gold in the patterns competition for his division and he passed his grading to Green Belt. Excellent
Sam passed to Green Tags and won Silver in the patterns competition for his division. Excellent!
William and Mikey both also passed to Green Tags during the week. More Excellence!

Apart from TaeKwon-Do exercises and classes on the ‘Do’ there is also the chance to have some fun, bounce on Castles and spend time with friends and I am very happy to see students from Banstead making friends with others from Extreme and doing so well too. Keep your eyes open for next years camp dates and look forward to having some fun.
