Junior TKD – 7 to 12 Year Olds
The Junior TaeKwon-Do classes follow the full ITF TaeKwon-Do syllabus adapted for children, 12 year olds will be consider for the adults class if the show they are ready for the jump.
Class Members: children aged 7 – 12 years old
Location: The Priory School Sports Hall
Monday Evenings: 6 – 7pm;
Wednesday Evenings: 6:30 – 7:30pm
What Goes on? The Junior TaeKwon-Do classes follow the official ITF syllabus adapted for children, they do all the aspects of TaeKwon-Do (Exercises, Patterns, Fundamental Movements, Sparring and pad work but their theory is simplified). I take juniors from between ages 7 & 12 years old and the classes last 1 hour and are focussed learning the fundamentals of martial arts, sport and exercise and healthy lifestyle.
There is an Emphasis on co-ordination, physical exercises and martial art movements helping to supercharge the learning process. There is a introduction to appropriate self defence and healthy lifestyle.
These children take part in demonstrations and competitions where they perform most aspects of TaeKwon-Do. They compete in patterns, sparring and special technique individually and teams. Banstead TaeKwon-Do has had great success in competitions and I am sure we’ll continue to do so.
